- cut out the defective zipper completely
- glue extending ball-material pattern to replacing zip
- the pattern should extend minimum 2.5 cm over the zipper tape, maintain the minimum slit width of 3 cm
- finally glue the extending pattern back on top of the ball

- Cut out the zipper center 3 cm wide and leave the remaining zipper tape in place
- Glue a new zipper to match and align with the remaining zipper tape top to back
